Brainfood is a monthly, hands-on discussion with local entrepreneurs who share the secrets of their success. These monthly gatherings will help Miami startups and entrepreneurs understand the opportunities and challenges of launching and growing a business. Every participant will leave with a wealth of new ideas and key, practical advice to advancing one’s own entrepreneurial career. Brainfood is presented by Endeavor Miami and takes place at The LAB Miami in Wynwood, generally on the last Tuesday of each month.
This month, we welcome Brandon Timinsky. Brandon Timinsky co-founded GasNinjas, an on-demand fuel delivery service that was acquired by Silicon Valley-based Exajoule in a multi-million dollar deal of cash and stock. Using “lean startup” methodologies, Brandon and his partner, Barret Hammond, raced from ideation to revenue in under three months time and even secured an acquisition before the two-year mark. A Miami native, Brandon studied Marketing at the University of Miami and Economics at the Florida International University. Though, he took a leave in his third year to pursue entrepreneurial endeavors.
At the age of fifteen, Brandon launched his first online business with rudimentary, self-taught web development skills. It was a Twitter-based networking system for gaining more followers that went viral to become an overnight success. Brandon used the site’s earnings to launch an array of other projects over the coming years. His entrepreneurial journey included building three more social media business, two real estate technologies, taking a swing at the fitness wearables space, co-founding an automotive aftermarket parts e-commerce site and even getting involved in a men’s skincare line.
